A commercial alliance with the payment gateway Cryptobuyer, allowed Burger King Venezuela to accept payments in six different cryptocurrencies (btc, ltc, eth, bnb, Dash and USDT).
Thanks to an alliance with the Cryptobuyer payment gateway, the fast food chain Burger King Venezuela will now accept cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. The alliance will allow to pay in digital assets in a first phase of tests that takes place since Monday, December 30 at the Sambil Shopping Center in Caracas.
This was reported by the Panamanian company of Venezuelan origin through its Twitter account, adding that there are six cryptocurrencies that will star in the aforementioned experiment: Bitcoin (BTC), Dash, Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance (BNB) and Tether (USDT).
Buy whoppers in crypto
Any user can approach the establishment and pay a hamburger combo using a wallet with the ability to scan QR codes via Cryptobuyer Pay, the company’s point of sale. Similarly, the company does not recommend paying from exchanges or centralized systems since the process is much slower than from a real wallet.
Benefit in the Venezuelan crypto community
The reaction of the users did not wait, qualifying the alliance as positive and waiting for more Burger King venues and more fast food chains to join the movement.
Even Dash Core Group CEO Ryan Taylorcongratulated the alliance and said it was a tremendous way to close the year:
“Congratulations to CryptoBuyer for signing this 40 franchise operator … I think that’s the biggest chain added so far! What a way to end the year!”
Venezuela is not the only country involved with Burger King at the cryptocurrency level. It has been previously reported that mobile buyers would earn rewards in bitcoin with Fold App for purchases at Burger King, Target, Starbucks, Amazon and others. In September, Burger King Germany began accepting bitcoin on its delivery site and mobile application.
