The renowned Lamborghini vehicle brand will test the Salesforce Blockchain to track, certify and authenticate cars faster and safer for resale.
Looking for ways to improve the customer experience and maintain the value of its products, Automobili Lamborghini, the Italian brand of luxury sports cars and super SUVs, a favorite of cryptocurrency enthusiasts, is using Salesforce Salesforce Blockchain to authenticate their cars Lamborghini classics.
This was announced on November 19 by Salesforce, the important global firm of CRM (customer relationship management), now allowing Lamborghini, one of the most iconic and leading-edge vehicle brands in the world since its foundation in 1963, track down, Certify and authenticate vehicles more quickly and safely.
The agreement was presented in the middle of Dreamforce, the great annual event of the CRM and marketing company that is being held in San Francisco this week.
Launched in May 2019, the Salesforce Hyperledger-based Blockchain platform will be implemented to create a reliable network among multiple participants for certification verifications during Lamborghini vehicle resale, the source said.
When a Lamborghini is resold, the vehicle goes through 800 to 1,000 certification inspections at the Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, the press release adds.
The aforementioned process, the statement continues, requires Lamborghini to work with a huge network of resources such as photographers, auction houses, dealerships, repair shops and media sources, which allows to record the complete history and verify the parts and service history of each vehicle.
Specifically, and further extending the value of Lamborghini’s luxury heritage vehicles, the brands claim that now each car of the brand will come with an immutable record of service, which includes important details such as previous ownership and restoration.
The new system is also designed to protect Lamborghini cars against possible counterfeits, the press release said. This ensures that vehicles are even more valuable throughout their useful life.
Lamborghini’s use of Salesforce Blockchain comes after a recent pilot project involving the first Lamborghini vehicle certified using the Salesforce blockchain. In August, a Lamborghini Aventador S was certified in the Salesforce Blockchain for a show at the Monterrey Car Week 2019 in California.
Automobili Lamborghini After Sales Director Paolo Gabrielli added:
“Innovation has been at the center of our company since its foundation.”
Salesforce Blockchain will allow us to take our innovation one step further, accelerating the authenticity of our heritage vehicles faster than ever.
Senior Vice President of Salesforce Emerging Technology, Adam Caplan commented:
“Blockchain is changing the way companies approach trust and transparency.”
Lamborghini is a perfect example of this: we are excited to see how such an iconic brand can innovate and transform the market for vintage cars with cutting-edge technology such as Salesforce Blockchain.
Salesforce Blockchain provides a framework that allows customers to drag and drop ready-to-use modules to build their own Blockchain networks with minimal need to write code.
The media also said that Lamborghini became the fourth customer of the Salesforce blockchain, after Arizona State University, the IQVIA health research company and the S&P Global rating agency.
